The Los Angeles Rams are now on the clock! The Rams traded up from pick 15 to acquire the 1st Overall Pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Let’s take a look at what Draft Picks were exchanged between the Tennessee Titans and the Los Angeles Rams.
Tennesse Titans Get:
Four 2016 Draft Picks – The 15th overall pick, 43rd, 45th and 76th picks.
The Titans also get the Rams 2017 1st Round pick and their 3rd Round Pick.
Los Angeles Rams Get:
Three 2016 Draft Picks – 1st Overall Pick, 113th and 177th picks.
All in all, 9 Draft Picks were involved in this West Coast Video Trade. The Rams will clearly target a Quarterback in North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz or Cal’s Jared Goff.
OT Laremy Tunsil was not 1st Overall Pick material apparantly. The Titans can still Draft protection for 2nd year QB Marcus Mariota with Pick 15. OT Jack Conklin should be available with Tunsil and Ronnie Stanley ranked ahead of him.
What does this mean for QBs Nick Foles and Case Keenum? It means the Rams have two solid backups and should trade one of them. I doubt the Denver Broncos have interest in either with Mark Sanchez on the roster. Still, if the price is right. Acquiring another backup QB could give them another option during competition in Training Camp. The Broncos currently have 2nd year QB Trevor Siemian backing up Sanchez. Potentially acquiring either Colin Kaepernick, Josh McCown, Brian Hoyer, Ryan Fitzpatrick or Mike Glennon.
