Is Dorial Green-Beckam a Fantasy Option in 2016?

Dorial Green-BeckamMariota-Green Beckam Combination

Dorial Green-Beckam is 6’5 and weighs 235 lbs. Runs a 4.49 Forty-Yard Dash and is in Moon Man’s Top 80 WR Rankings. Last season Dorial was thrust into the #1 receiver slot with injuries and horrendous play from the Titan’s offensive WRs. Remember Delanie Walker and his 94 receptions in 2015?  Racking up 1,088 yards and 6 touchdowns as a Tight End. Delanie split out often and broke some big plays for Fantasy owners. Moon Man is not high on Delanie Walker this year as he expects more consistency from Marcus Mariota and Tennessee’s improved offensive line. Mariota will not need to depend on Delanie as he did in 2015.

In the Universe of Fantasy Football. Drafting players expecting repeat performances will often lead Fantasy Friends to the waiver wire for a replacement of that same bust pick.

Go for glory! Go for the win! Draft Dorial Green-Beckam as your Flex and potential #2 WR substitution? His physical abilities scream mutant. Moon Man thinks Dorial runs the streak well and has displayed body control to create the big play Touchdown. Dorial will be used more in the redzone as his understanding of getting open improves. Dorial saw 67 targets in 2015. Catching 32 balls for 549 yards and 4 tds. Not impressive catching only 47% of his targets and producing just 2 hundred yard games. Dorial didn’t play college ball in 2014 so his body is fresh and with a whole year under his belt already. Mike Mularkey and Terry Robiskie will have the offense moving in 2016. Robiskie came over from Julio Jones land in Atlanta. That’s good news for Dorial.

Marcus Mariota in year 2 is Moon Man’s 7th ranked Fantasy QB currently (https://ffnation.com2016-nfl-draft-1st-round-recap-w32-qb-fantasy-rankings/ ). The Titans offensive line has Taylor Lewan on the blindside with Jack Conklin starting at right tackle. Ben Jones at center was signed in March along with Demarco Murray. This team is stacked. Moon Man expects bumps during pre-season and explosive plays in the regular season. Dorial Green-Beckam‘s 32 receptions for 549 yards represents 17.2 yards per reception in 2015. If Green-Beckam sees 80 targets and catches more than 47% of these targets. He will rack up 700+ yards easily. Mariota’s offensive line, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends are improved. Further helping Mariota connect with Green-Beckam.

Marcus Mariota in year two will not target Delanie Walker a career high 133 times in 2016. Dorial Green-Beckam being targeted 100+ times is unlikely too. The Tennessee Titans have Kendall Wright, Rishard Matthews, Harry Douglas and Justin Hunter at wide out. Mariota now has rookie Tajae Sharpe (6’3, 190 lbs) and he caught 111 balls in 2015 which was #1 in the Nation Fantasy Friends. Tajae runs a 4.55 forty and had 1,319 yards and 5 tds to go with those 111 receptions. Moon Man likes the Titans players to put up big games all year long. Which offensive player will be consistent? It is important to recognize these studs on each offense. It’s gotta be Delanie Walker with 86 targets in 2013, 106 in 2014 and 133 in targets 2015? More like 85 targets in 2016 with “Thunder and Thunder” in theatres now and the Rishard Matthews/Kendall Wright spread looking promising.

So Why is Dorial Green-Beckam ranked #32 Moon Man’s Top 80 WRs? (https://ffnation.commoon-mans-top-80-fantasy-football-wrs/ ). Because Fantasy Friends should have depth at the WR position and Dorial gives owners 4-6 fifteen plus point games in 2016. Big plays combined with touchdowns is expected of this mutant. Fantasy Friends must start him accordingly and ride him when he catches fire. As for DFS. His cost will be low but there will be better options depending on the matchups over the course of 17 weeks. Moon Man will inform Fantasy Friends of the correct week to plug Dorial into your DFS lineup. Week 1 the Minnesota Vikings come to Tennessee and Dorial should be in multiple DFS lineups.

As Always,

(Teams Going Off + Thoughts Flexed In = Combination Lineups)

May the Fantasy Force be with you.
