Patriot Games

It’s Thursday and the usual “Bill Belichickanigans” have been popping up all over the news. I’m going to do my best to bring clarity for all you DFS players out there!

  1. Gronk- It has been a subpar 2nd half of the season for Gronk. In my opinion his #1 Tight End status was taken by a healthy Jordan Reed. PPR respectively. Tyler Eifert if not for injuries too. A bum knee and injuries to the Patriot’s offensive lineman have increased the need for Gronk’s stellar blocking skills. What does this mean? Scott Chandler to get targets? That’s a stretch considering he failed miserably when given the starting role. With Reed and Eifert out of the playoffs. Gronk is a safe bet to be the top scoring tight end this Divisional Round Weekend.                             The Chiefs @ Patriots is a Tight End matchup for the ages! Gronk vs Kelce. Two beast at their positions who have soft hands. 14.3 point floor this week (ppr).
  2. Julian Eldeman is “Probable” and has voiced that he plays one way. Which is all out-all game-all season! I can definitely respect that. The man had 60 plus catches at the halfway point of this season. Fears no defender as he starts and stops in the slot, converting big 1st downs. Superb athlete who can run the reverse or toss a TD when called on. Even with a plate in his cleat to protect his healed foot. I like Eldeman to produce this week. Tom is looking his way on third down when the pressure is baring down. 20+ fantasy points in ppr is a stretch. 18.7 points this week(ppr).
  3. Steven Jackson has looked slow. He has also pounded the rock and is bruising opposing defenses with those 21 slow rushes. The man is jacked and his heart is pumping with the thought of a Superbowl. What a story that would be. The only question is……Will Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels give him the rock?                                                                 At the goaline they surely will. 6 points in fantasy with only 4 games happening is big! Jackson brings protection for Brady in the blocking game as well. Against the Chiefs and that front. You better believe Jackson will be playing. Tamper expectations but with his price tag. Jackson is a no brainer to plug into DFS lineups. 13.1 point floor in ppr here guys and gals.

Those are my top three priorities when looking at which Patriots to play this week.

Amendola, LaFell, White and Bolden will also be in the mix:

-White has been a ppr producer when targeted.

  1. Jackson
  2. White (combo any if these two)
  3. Bolden

-LaFell has played enough games to show up. Will Eldeman’s return open up the outside for Lafell? Yes!

Does that mean I pick LaFell? At your own risk. LaFell has played poorly in comparison to his 2014 campaign.

-Amendola to snag a TD away from my big three priorities? Most likely. Plug him in A lineup.

-Keyshawn Martin or Matthew Slater? No!

Who knows? Maybe a practice squad player will ruin everyone’s lineups.  Belichick is Notorious for BIG time shenanigans.

This season Belichick has been better to be fair.lol. I think that has to do with the injuries and the fact that Tom can only do so much with his medicore weapons. Now that all Tom’s weapons are back and Belichickanigans are being served! It’s a safe bet to start Corey Dillon, Atwain Smith and Kevin Faulk in the flex. I’m out!
