NFL Wild Card Weekend – DraftKings Value Picks

It’s time for the NFL PLAYOFFS Baby! And that means it’s slim picking when it comes to games, as there’s only 4 games this week. Let’s dive in and take a look at this weeks DraftKings slate and try to uncover a few value picks.

QUARTERBACK

I am strongly considering running Eli Manning $6,100 out there this week as my #1 quarterback vs a not so great Green Bay defense. Of course the top plays will be Aaron Rodgers $7,900 and big Ben Roethlisberger $7,600 and rightfully so, they are both great plays. The only thing is, they will both be chalky as hell and you could get similar production from Eli this week. Now I know Eli hasn’t been great this year, cracking 20 fantasy points only 3 times this season, but given the match up, the savings he provides and the Giants post season prowess, I think this could be a sharp play.

RUNNING BACK

The value play at running back this week is DeAndre Washington $3,300. Latavius Murray is priced as the #1 back in Oakland at $5,000, but he’s been horrible in the last 3 games. The Raiders will likely run the ball a ton with rookie quarterback Connor Cook making his first career start and I think Washington will prove to be the best back in Oakland going up against a Houston defense that’s allowed an average of 99 yards per game on the ground this season.

WIDE RECEIVER

There are so many value options at wide receiver this week I have to go with 2 picks. Anquan Boldin $4,000 is a veteran who brings strength and grit to a Lions team on the road facing a tough Seattle defense. Richard Sherman will lock down the outside receivers, leaving Boldin to eat in the slot. He’s averaging 6 targets over the last 4 games with 2 touchdowns and although I don’t like his home(14 point avg) road(7 point avg) splits, I can see him having 9+ targets in this game.

I’m staying in the same game for my second value pick at wide receiver and I’m going with Seattle’s Paul Richardson $3,400. Now that Tyler Lockett has gone down with a season ending leg injury, the Seahawks need a deep threat to replace him. Enter Paul Richardson who saw 7 targets last week and 5 the week before. This is the deep threat, big play receiver that can win you a big GPP. It only takes 1 or 2 deep balls and your $3,400 investment just turned into 20+ fantasy points.

TIGHT END

The tight end position is very tough this week. I’ll be taking a flyer on Jared Cook $3,600 who’s in a high flying Green Bay offense. It looks like Randall Cobb is coming back for this game and that doesn’t help Cook’s case, but the Giants haven’t been great against tight ends this year and Cook is seeing targets with 8, 5, and 8 in his last 3 games.

Thanks for reading and good luck this week!
