Moon Man’s Fantasy Football Chronicles: New York Giants Defense

Moon Man’s Fantasy Football Chronicles: New York Giants Defense

The New York Giants made multiple off season signings and Moon Man likes their DST value this upcoming 2016 Fantasy Football Season.

Signed DE Olivier Vernon, DE Jason Pierre-Paul and DL Damon Harrison.

-Fantasy Relevant Rotation of DE Kerry Wynn, DT Johnathan Hankins and DT Jay Bromley.

Signed LB Keenan Robinson and LB Kelvin Sheppard.

-Fantasy Relevant Rotation of LBs Jonathan Casillas, Jasper Brinkley, Devon Kennard, J.T. Thomas and Uani’ Unga.

Signed CB Janoris Jenkins.

-Fantasy Relevant Rotation of FS Landin Collins, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and CB Trevin Wade.

Looks like the Giants are in need of a safety to solidify an inconsistent Top 12 fantasy DST. Would the GMEN sign recently released Donte Hitner-Whitner? If this is the case, the back end would be liable to the deep ball which crushes their DST Fantasy value. Ohh wait, the GMEN signed Janoris Jenkins who is notorious for getting beat deep. It is always a good play to start a Tall and Fast Wide Receiver versus Jenkins. Moon Man emphasizes height because Janoris Jenkins has displayed good recovery speed. The height negates his recovery speed because it comes down physics at that point (Moon Man Fantasy Analysis).

Moon Man is bouncing from one rock to another with excitement as the Tony Romo to Dez Bryant Combination face the Giants twice! Even with Jenkin’s getting beat deep. The Giants defense looks solid on paper. Keenan Robinson is a stud IDP when healthy and Olivier Vernon offers good value. Vernon is not a sack machine but he will provide tackles, batted balls and 11 sacks this season. That’s solid productivity once  J.J. Watt and the 2016 sack artists come about after a few weeks into the season.

The Giant’s current defensive front has the ability to pressure the quarterback, move sideline to sideline and cause turnovers. They will face Tony Romo, Sam Bradford and Kirk Cousins a combined 6 times this season. Moon Man is loving their DST value. Pick 6’s, fumbles and Int’s a plenty in this division.

The Giants could draft a Safety in rounds 2 or 3. Some viable options are Jeremy Cash, Vonn Bell, Darian Thompson, Jalen Mills, Keanu Neal and Karl Joseph. Moon Man likes to think big but the GMEN could easily draft a safety come Day 3 of the draft. Why wouldn’t they solidify their backend for years to come. Not to mention make Madden fans happy with a Collins/Bell combo or Mills/Collins combo.

Either way. The New York Giants have positioned themselves to compete for a NFC East Division Crown and be Fantasy Football Relevant Defensive Team this 2016 season.

Moon Man Concludes with 3 points:

  1. Start Tall/Fast WR’s vs Janoris Jenkins.
  2. Giants need a Safety to protect against Jenkin’s occasional defensive lapses.
  3. Drafting CB Vernon Hargreaves, William Jackson III or Eli Apple is a possibility with Pick 10 (possibly trading down in round 1 too).

As Always,

(Teams Going Off + Thoughts Flexed In = Combination Lineups)

May the Fantasy Force be with you.
