TOP 155 WIDE RECEIVER RANKINGS

MOON MAN’S 2017 MAY EDITION

Wide Receivers

Moon Man has thoughts on this year’s wide receiver group. Im looking at the “Top 155 wrs” and throwing some questions out there for this upcoming 2017 Fantasy Football season.

Ranking wide receivers at any point in the year can be difficult. Depending on what you value as the Fantasy Football Owner only adds to the analysis period. As an owner, your values need to add up to fantasy points weekly or not interfere with just listening to the expert’s opinions. The luck factor does not exist in Fantasy Football ownership but rather with what actually happens LIVE in real life on the football field. This is still debateable! Even with live football, the teams and players have practiced and positioned themselves for success throughout the week. It is what teams do? So with that said.

Last year before pre-season, Moon Man typed in Julio Jones as his number #1 wide receiver. The only way to justify it was 2,000 receiving yards for Julio and double digit touchdowns without Antonio Brown going off. We all knew Antonio would put up a good season at the very least which he did. So Julio over Antonio wasnt a stretch in the long run. Unfortunately Julio is still put up a dud from week to week and that was the key difference between the two!

Julio Jones had a great season but not one moon man values at the number #1 spot. Antonio Brown performed but not enough to warrant the consensus #1 overall pick last year.

-Devonte Adams performed with 121 targets, 75 receptions for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns. Turning it up down the stretch. Devonte rebounded from a disappointing 2015 in which he was a draft bust!

Mike Evans crushed it and Jordy Nelson was consistent all year. These two were considered the top wrs in many Fantasy Football Friend’s eyes.

-Tyrell Williams stepped up with Keenan Allen getting injured once again. Tyrell’s statistics were 119 targets, 69 receptions for 1,059 and 7 touchdowns. Even with Mike Williams being drafted. Tyrell needs to be on Fantasy owner’s minds coming into training camp!

-Jarvis Landry statistics – 131 targets, 94 receptions for 1,138 yards and 4 touchdowns. The stat machine did not produce huge weekly until the Fantasy Playoffs arrived!

-Michael Thomas, Amari Cooper and/or Michael Crabtree or Rishard Matthews now a top ten lock?

-Will Tom Brady sling the rock 650+ times? Will Julian Eldeman (160 LY) and Brandin Cooks (117 LY) see 130+ targets each in 2017?

Top 155 Wide Receiver Rankings:

  1. Antonio Brown (Steelers) – 154 targets, 106 receptions for 1,284 yards and 12 touchdowns (2016).
  2. Odell Beckham Jr. (Giants) – 161 targets, 101 receptions for 1,367 yards and 10 touchdowns (2016).
  3. Julio Jones (Falcons) – 83 receptions for 1,409 yards and 6 touchdowns. Julio saw only 129 targets, missed two games and parts of others (2016).
  4. Mike Evans (Buccaneers) – 171 targets, 96 receptions for 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns (2016).
  5. Jordy Nelson (Packers) – 152 targets, 97 receptions for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns (2016).
  6. Allen Robinson (Jaguars) – 150 targets, 73 receptions for 883 yards and 6 touchdowns. Moon Man expects him to drop in drafts and finish as a top ten wr once again in 2017.
  7. Michael Thomas (New Orleans Saints). Pencil this stud in just dont draft him higher than round 2.
  8. A.J. Green (Bengals) – 100 targets for 10 games including 66 receptions totalling 964 yards with 4 touchdowns (2016).
