The Moon Man’s Fantasy Football Chronicles: NFC North Fantasy Rankings

Much of the Same

Moon Man has Fantasy Rankings/Analysis for the NFC North.

Detroit Lions:

  • QB – Matthew Stafford
  • RB – Ameer Abdullah
  • RB – Stevan Ridley
  • RB – Theo Riddick
  • WR – Marvin Jones
  • WR – Golden Tate
  • WR – T.J. Jones
  • WR – Jeremy Kerley
  • WR – Corey Fuller
  • TE – Eric Ebron

The Detroit Lions finished the season 6-3 after starting 1-7. Jim Bob Cooter taking over as offensive coordinator helped the Lions and Fantasy Friends. There is doubt in Matthew Stafford’s IT factor. He is 0-2 in the playoffs. Both Wild Card losses. The Lions could have beat the Saints back in 2011 Wild Card Round and should have beaten the Cowboys in the 2014 Wildcard Round. Matthew Stafford is a #2 QB for Fantasy this upcoming season. The Lions need to add a WR or two with their 10 draft picks. Address the o-line, defensive secondary, defensive front and maybe Stafford will take the Lions to the Playoffs. The NFC North should be one of the better NFL divisions this year barring injuries.

Green Bay Packers:

  • QB – Aaron Rodgers
  • RB – Eddie Lacy
  • RB – James Starks
  • WR – Jordy Nelson
  • WR – Randall Cobb
  • WR – Jeff Janis
  • WR – Devante Adams
  • WR – Jared Abbrederis
  • WR – Ty Montgomery
  • TE – Jared Cook
  • TE – Richard Rodgers

The weapons are here for Aaron Rodgers. It’s the same gameplan this upcoming season. Just a matter of execution when speaking of the Green Bay Packers. Offensive line injuries last season and the lack of a true #1 rb and #1 wr were weak spots on the offensive side. Jordy is back and maybe Lacy cuts weight this off season. Adding depth on the o-line and drafting the best player on the board will have the Packers competing for the division again. The Packers have 9 draft picks. Including 3 fourth rounders. Moon Man expects the Pack to be a top 15 defensive again this season.

Chicago Bears

  • QB – Jay Cutler
  • RB – Jeremy Langford
  • RB – Ka’Deem Carey
  • WR – Alshon Jeffery
  • WR – Kevin White
  • WR – MarcMariani
  • TE – Zach Miller

Da Bears are not a contender yet. Bear with me for a few sentences. John Fox is a winner. Chicago added LBs Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman. With the 11th pick in the draft and 8 other picks to fill gaps. The Bears will offer few fantasy options. Speaking of few options. The Minnesota Vikings Offensive roster looks like this.

  • QB – Teddy Bridgewater
  • RB – Adrian Peterson
  • RB – Jerick McKinnon
  • WR -Stefon Diggs
  • WR – Charles Johnson
  • WR – Cordarrelle Patterson
  • TE – Kyle Rudolph

With 8 picks the Vikings can add defenders and offensive players that have no value in fantasy. In particular a wide receiver https://ffnation.commock-draft-nfl-round-1/ . The Vikings are still the team to win the unlesson regardless unless Jordy steps up.

  6. Stefon Diggs
  7. Jeff Janis
  8. Devanta Adams

DST Rankings

  1. Packers
  2. Vikings
  3. Lions
  4. Bears

Much of the same in this division fantasy wise. Stacking Packers receivers with Aaron Rodgers when a matchup presents itself and riding with Adrian Peterson. 2,000 yards this season? AP is a top 3 fantasy running back still? Le’Veon Bell is recovering. Later this week. Moon Man will be posting fantasy rankings per position. Will Jeremy Langford perform again the way he did last year? The Lions players should offer great value in ppr formats. Two top 10 wide receivers in the division still. Alshon Jeffery and Jordy Nelson.

Will Harrison Smith stay healthy? Is DeAndre Levy back? Clay Matthews, Morgan Burnett, Julius Peppers, Anthony Barr, Danny Trevathan, Jerrell Freeman, Eric Kendriks, Kyle Fuller, Glover Quinn and of course Ezekiel Ansah offer IDP value.

As Always,

(Teams Going Off + Thoughts Flexed In = Combination Lineups)

May the Fantasy Force be with you.
